Our Story

I grew up in a home where love was real, but some conversations just didn’t happen. Family matters stayed in the family, and many of the things I carried as a teenager, I carried alone. Looking back, I don’t think I needed someone to fix my problems. I needed someone with the time and the safety to listen.

When I became a mother, I made a promise to my son: he would never have to wonder whether he could come to me. Not because he’ll never make mistakes (he will, and so did I), but because a mistake should start a conversation, not end one.

If open conversation wasn’t something you had growing up, that’s nothing to be ashamed of. Most of us parent the way we were parented until we decide to do something different. That decision is the Bold 180.

Bold 180 exists so no parent has to figure this out alone. We want to help raise a generation that isn’t judged for its mistakes and choices, but guided through them. We give parents the words, the tools and a community, so their children grow up knowing that home is the safest place to be honest.

If your child is in crisis or talking about harming themselves, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) any time, day or night. In an emergency, call 911. Bold 180 offers parenting guidance and support. It is not a substitute for medical or mental health care.
